HOW TO DEAL WITH YOUR FEARS

Fear not little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). “Fear ye not, for ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:31).

Fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs in certain types of organisms, which causes a change in metabolic and organ functions and ultimately a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events.(wikipedia)

Fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid

Relationships

TWO KINDS OF FEAR

-Rational: Protects you e.g fear of a lion

-Irrational:Prevents you e.g fear of intimacy with others

ACTIVITY 2
Look at the fears you wrote out in activity 1. Classify them into rational and irrational

HOW TO DEAL WITH FEAR

Two main ways
1.Fear mastery : refers to control or superiority over fear.

2. Fear Exstinguishment: refers to completely snuffing out fear from your heart.

Example of an area where you need fear mastery is public speaking. (Fear of public speaking)

Example of an area where you need fear exstinguishment is the future. (Fear of the future)

HOW TO MASTER FEAR

1.IDENTIFY your fear
Rejection
Being Misunderstood
Failure
Selling to people
Dark
The future etc

2. DETACH yourself
By this I mean you should seperate yourself from the picture of the fear in your heart.
Think about it like a movie

I cry profusely when seeing a movie that appeals to my emotions. The only time I am able to stop crying when I see movies like that, is to remind myself that it is just a movie.

You are not your emotions/feelings. Feelings are products of thoughts and beliefs. This consciousness will help you control your thoughts and consequently expel fear off your heart.

3. DECOLOUR the fear
Take the aliveness in your negative imagination away by imagining that the opposite of your fear happened.

4. DECORATE your hope
Imagine the good happening by adding realistic features like a date, time and place, colour. Dwell on it and enjoy the liveliness of your hope.

5. ENGAGE your hope
Start doing what you need to do to create your dream/hope.
Afraid of poverty, learn and start a business and move towards a financially flourishing life.

HOW TO EXTINGUISH FEAR

1. IDENTIFY the fear

2. CONNECT with Christ
Romans 10:19

3. ENGAGE the power at work within you. 2 peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

7 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO AS A GUEST MINISTER (SINGER OR PREACHER)

I consider it a huge privilege to be God’s mouthpiece on earth. I pretty much like that I have to learn from Him and the capable others he has planted in my life while passing on this knowledge to others as He wills. Being His mouthpiece means I have to travel, meet people, and go to places are like or not like (yes sometimes you don’t feel like being somewhere).  This exposes me to a whole lot of information and helps me build valuable relationships. I’ve been a guest minister to many in the last twelve (12) years of my life. Pretty much since I was a teenager. I’ll like to share with you a few things I believe young people should never do when they are out as guest ministers.
1.Don’t  Isolate yourself from responsibilities There are times when the host might place you in their home or someone else’s rather than a hotel. Most young people tend to cross their legs and wait for breakfast in bed like the anointing would lift if they picked up a pin. When you’re placed in a home rather tha…

WHY DO “LOOSE” GIRLS MARRY FASTER?

“If this life has anything to gain at all, I’ll count it lost if I can’t hear you feel you, cause I need you…” rang my amazing ringtone by Lecrae. I picked up the sleek darling to see who misses me. It was this pretty friend of mine.
Ada (Not real name) and I met at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in our first year. We had a lot in common and she was just my type (whatever that means) LOL. Anyway, I was (and still am) literally and figuratively in love with God and I noticed her heart was committed to God and His standards too.
Well, we graduated four years later and you know how life happens. We haven’t really kept in touch for a while. I heard sometime back that she was engaged and I called to say congratulations.  We talked about how life had been since after school and how we both are still fervently loving and serving the Lord. She said her wedding was three months away and I told her I definitely needed the aso-ebi (A uniform material sold to people who wish to attend an event).
